Intro Into Childminding
The Home‑Based Childcare course is designed to give you the knowledge and practical skills needed to establish and run a successful childcare business from your own home or to take on roles such as Childminding Assistant or Home‑Based Support Worker.
You will develop a strong understanding of key childcare responsibilities, including safeguarding, health and safety, and early child development, ensuring you are fully prepared to support children’s learning and wellbeing in a home environment. The course also helps you understand the regulatory requirements for home‑based childcare providers so you can confidently meet legal and Ofsted standards.
Alongside childcare knowledge, you will build essential business and employability skills, such as creating a business plan, managing your finances, handling tax obligations, and promoting your services to families. These skills are key to helping you set up a professional, sustainable childcare business.
By the end of the course, you will be fully prepared to register with Ofsted, begin work as a certified home‑based childcare provider, or apply for roles supporting other childminders and early years services.
