Cooking together: Butter chicken, vegetable rice and fruit salad skewers
This workshop is designed for families who have previously participated in the Local Authority’s Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme, or for those managing a health condition where healthy eating can make a positive difference. This course is for parents/carers and up to 2 children to do together.
Each week, you’ll learn to prepare a different meal from scratch and take it home to share with your family—showcasing your new skills! All ingredients are provided free of charge, and we cater for all dietary requirements, intolerances, and allergies. Every recipe is designed to serve four people.
To enrol, you must complete a short health questionnaire.

Progress of your learning will be assessed through -
Practical observation and individual learning plans. Your tutor will provide you with ongoing feedback to support you.

Assessment for applicants is based on health requirements or participation in the HAF project.

• You will be expected to be punctual and attend 100% of this course. Please do not book holidays in term time and let us know of any planned absences before you start the course. If you do not attend for 2 consecutive sessions, without prior notice you may be withdrawn, and this will reduce your chances of joining another course in the future.
• We use a mixture of classroom based and online learning for classwork and homework.

On the first session, please bring an apron and food storage containers if you have them, note pad/pen and wear sensible kitchen appropriate clothing and footwear.

You may also choose to become a course representative for your class. Course Representatives can then stand for election onto our Learner Council
