Award in Exploring Occupational Studies for the Workplace (Entry 3)
The intention of this course is to provide the opportunity for learners who are working at Entry 1-3, have recent voluntary work experience and want to evidence their growing employability skills to gain an Award certificate at Entry 3.

This course will run alongside any voluntary work experience you are doing in our centres. The unit you choose to do will depend on your learning pathway. You will continue to develop, practice and consolidate your employability skills with or without support as needed:
- Engage in voluntary work experience in any of our centres
- Build your portfolio to gain the Entry 3 award in Exploring Occupational Studies for the Workplace in one of the following units as agreed:
---Introduction to customer service skills
---Working as a volunteer
---Food hygiene, food safety and preparation
---Improving own confidence
Prosp User 3
Progress of your work will be assessed throughout the course by your tutor through your contribution to classwork, taking part in discussions, observations, practical tasks, creating a file (portfolio of work) or a storyboard. Your progress will be recorded on individual learning plans (ILPs) and you will have tutorials with your tutor.
Depending on the work you produce on this course, it might be displayed in our centres or at the Festival of Learning event at the end of the year.

You will need to want to develop your employability and work skills be able to listen carefully, respond to and follow instructions, solve problems, generate ideas and plan projects, communicate, use digital skills and work with your classmates.

• You will be expected to be punctual and attend 100% of this course. Please do not book holidays in term time and let us know of any planned absences before you start the course. If you do not attend for 2 consecutive sessions, without prior notice you may be withdrawn, and this will reduce your chances of joining another course in the future.

• Learners may complete an Emotional Health and Wellbeing survey to help us identify and support these needs appropriately.

• We use a mixture of classroom based and online learning for classwork and homework.

You may need a supply of paper, pens and a ring binder. Please do not purchase any items before the first session. Your tutor will let you know what you need to bring e.g. craft or recyclable materials like cardboard and plastic bottles and other material that can be used in the group projects.
Yes. There are various ways to support your learning, subject to your individual circumstance and type of programme, please ask your tutor or the centre staff for more information on the following:
• Additional funding to pay for resources.
• Laptop, Loan and Learn scheme
• Homework Club
• Additional support within the classroom
Prosp User 6
You may wish to consider building on the skills you have developed on this course in term 2. You may also consider some of the other courses offered e.g. Make your crafts to sell or Prep for Employment. Your teacher will discuss your options with you as you progress through this course.
Prosp User 7
There are no specific job opportunities, however this course will allow you to build on the practical skills you have developed. We also have other courses in various subjects which you might find useful to extend and improve your employability skills such as communication and working as part of a team. Your teacher will discuss this with you as you progress through the course.

• You can give your views through your ILP, course evaluation forms, surveys and our Compliments, Comments and Complaints forms which can be found in Centre offices.
• You may also choose to become a course representative for your class. Course Representatives can then stand for election onto our Learner Council

• We want you to enjoy your learning experience and feel safe, equal and respected while you are here with us. If you have any concerns, please report it to a member of staff or directly to a Designated Safeguarding Officer as soon as possible.

• To ensure that our learners can communicate with each other safely we offer a variety of functions in Google suite. We strongly discourage the use of other social media groups such as Whatsapp, which rely on personal data being shared.
