ALDD Enterprise Project Term 3
This Enterprise project will enable you to develop skills that are useful for employment e.g. working as a team, making decisions, communication and interpersonal skills, solving problems, using your initiative and developing your strengths. You will work with other learners in a team to manage, plan, produce and track items to be sold. Depending on your strengths, you may help manage various aspects of the ALDD website.

Open What will I learn?

Throughout this course you will develop, practice and consolidate some or all of the skills below with or without support:
-Maintain and monitor stock levels of the food bank and request top up donations if needed
-Monitor donations made and items taken
-Work as a team to manage the bank and demonstrate good customer service skills

Open How will I be assessed?

Progress of your work will be assessed throughout the course by your tutor through your contribution to classwork, taking part in discussions, observations, practical tasks, creating a file (portfolio of work) or a storyboard. Your progress will be recorded on individual learning plans (ILPs) and you will have tutorials with your tutor.
Depending on the work you produce on this course, it might be displayed in our centres or at the Festival of Learning event at the end of the year.

Open What experience or qualifications do I need to start this course?

You will need to want to develop your employability and work skills be able to listen carefully, respond to and follow instructions, solve problems, generate ideas and plan projects, communicate, use digital skills and work with your classmates.

Open Important Information

• You will be expected to be punctual and attend 100% of this course. Please do not book holidays in term time and let us know of any planned absences before you start the course. If you do not attend for 2 consecutive sessions, without prior notice you may be withdrawn, and this will reduce your chances of joining another course in the future.

• Learners may complete an Emotional Health and Wellbeing survey to help us identify and support these needs appropriately.

• We use a mixture of classroom based and online learning for classwork and homework.

Open Is there anything I need to bring? Are there any other costs?

You may need a supply of paper, pens and a ring binder. Please do not purchase any items before the first session. Your tutor will let you know what you need to bring e.g. craft or recyclable materials like cardboard and plastic bottles and other material that can be used in the group projects.

Open Can I get extra help?

Yes. There are various ways to support your learning, subject to your individual circumstance and type of programme, please ask your tutor or the centre staff for more information on the following:
• Additional funding to pay for resources.
• Laptop, Loan and Learn scheme
• Homework Club
• Additional support within the classroom

Open After the course….

You may wish to consider building on the skills you have developed on this course in term 2. You may also consider some of the other courses offered e.g. Make your crafts to sell or Prep for Employment. Your teacher will discuss your options with you as you progress through this course.

Open What job opportunities could this lead to?

There are no specific job opportunities, however this course will allow you to build on the practical skills you have developed. We also have other courses in various subjects which you might find useful to extend and improve your employability skills such as communication and working as part of a team. Your teacher will discuss this with you as you progress through the course.

Open How will I be able to give my views on the course?

• You can give your views through your ILP, course evaluation forms, surveys and our Compliments, Comments and Complaints forms which can be found in Centre offices.
• You may also choose to become a course representative for your class. Course Representatives can then stand for election onto our Learner Council

Open Safe learning

• We want you to enjoy your learning experience and feel safe, equal and respected while you are here with us. If you have any concerns, please report it to a member of staff or directly to a Designated Safeguarding Officer as soon as possible.

• To ensure that our learners can communicate with each other safely we offer a variety of functions in Google suite. We strongly discourage the use of other social media groups such as Whatsapp, which rely on personal data being shared.
