Become a Teaching Assistant Level 2
"You will gain an understanding of the knowledge and skills when carrying out the role of a teaching assistant under the direction of a Teacher.
You will work towards Level 2 Certificate in Support, Teaching and learning as well as Level 1 Employability skills. This programme will enable you to obtain the required knowledge, understanding and skills and be able to support children and young people within an education based setting.
Throughout the programme you will reflect on your practice to be able to demonstrate all of what you learn. You will also need to ensure that you allow sufficient time for self-study and complete any homework set, we would recommend 3 – 4 hours per week as a minimum."

The course is continuously assessed by your tutor. They will use a variety of assessment methods such as workplace observation, written assignments, professional discussions, case studies and question and answer sessions to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding. You will also complete portfolio of Employability skills.

You will need to attend an initial assessment before you will be able to enrol. You will also need a minimum of a level 1 in English and Digital Skills, this is essential to be able to successfully participate in online sessions as you will be required to work on online platforms such as Google Classroom and Moodle. You MUST have a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service check) and be working or volunteer in a practical placement in a learning environment with pupils in year one or above, for a minimum of 6 hours per week for the duration of the course.There will also be some assessments carried out within your placement too at times and dates mutally agreed.

"• You will be expected to be punctual and attend 100% of this course. Please do not book holidays in term time and let us know of any planned absences before you start the course. If you do not attend for 2 consecutive sessions, without prior notice you may be withdrawn, and this will reduce your chances of joining another course in the future.

Teaching Assistant £15,504 to £18,204
Learning Support Assistant £18,835
Higher Level teaching Assistant £19,500 to £21,000
(Can be pro rata due to the role being term time only)"
