Higher Level Early Years Practitioner Level 4
This Level 4 Certificate For The Advanced Practitioner in Schools and Colleges aims to provide professional development opportunities for practitioners working in a school or college. You will gain and use skills of leadership, mentoring, coaching and reflection as they complete the qualification through work-based learning opportunities.
It will challenge the you in both daily practice and theoretical understanding. The Advanced Practitioner will use crucial leadership skills to mentor others across all roles and responsibilities in the school or college workforce
Upon achievement of this qualification, the learner will be equipped as an Advanced Practitioner.

By the end of the programme, you should be able to
• Understand how to support children & young people to improve mental health and well-being.
• Demonstrate partnership Work with others to support individuals with additional needs/disability in a school or college.
• Support and work alongside families and other professionals.

• Enable self-reflection and opportunities learn about own practice.

The course is continuously assessed by your tutor. They will use a variety of assessment methods such as a workplace observation, written assignments, professional discussions, case studies and question and answer sessions to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding.

You will need to attend a skills assessment before you can enrol..You need to show evidence of holding a recognised level 3 qualification relevant to childcare or Health and Social care. You must also be able to evidence that you are employed in a relevent setting for a minimum of 12 hours per week and hold a DBS. You will need to be able to use both written and spoken English to at least Level 2 standard.You will also need basic Digital Skills, this is essential to be able to successfully participate in online sessions as you will be required to work on online platforms such as Google Classroom and Moodle. Learners may be offered additional English, Maths and digital support where appropriate.

•You will be expected to be punctual and attend 100% of this course. Please do not book holidays in term time and let us know of any planned absences before you start the course. If you do not attend for 2 consecutive sessions, without prior notice you may be withdrawn, and this will reduce your chances of joining another course in the future. • Learners may complete an Emotional Health and Wellbeing survey to help us identify and support these needs appropriately. •We use a mixture of classroom based and online learning for classwork and homework.

You will need a note pad and pen for your first session and your tutor will advise you on further materials if needed (Please do not purchase any materials before the first session).
Yes. There are various ways to support your learning, subject to your individual circumstance and type of programme, please ask your tutor or the centre staff for more information on the following:

• Laptop, Loan and Learn scheme
• Homework Club
• Additional support within the classroom

Upon successful completion of this course we will provide information, advice and guidance about suitable courses and career progression.We can also signpost or refer you to where you can progress onto University in your chosen career. • You can give your views through your ILP, course evaluation forms, surveys and our Compliments, Comments and Complaints forms which can be found in Centre offices.
• You may also choose to become a course representative for your class. Course Representatives can then stand for election onto our Learner Council

• To ensure that our learners can communicate with each other safely we offer a variety of functions in Google suite. We strongly discourage the use of other social media groups such as Whatsapp, which rely on personal data being shared.
