Intermediate Floristry Level 2 Cert
The intent of this course is to widen knowledge, improve your creative and employability skills and enhance your professional portfolio. This course is designed for those who have completed the Level 1 Award in Creative Craft or who have had sufficient industry experience.
A 30 week evening programme resulting in a City and Guilds, Level 2 Certificate in Floristry. A certificate consists of three units taken from the ten units full Diploma and an online multiple choice exam.
Candidates are shown a variety of basic skills and techniques to enable them to construct a varied range of floral arrangements and Wedding work. Candidates will also cover the elements and principles of floral design.
You will also need to ensure that you allow sufficient time for self-study and complete any homework set, we would recommend 2 – 3 hours per week.
Health and safety will be embedded in the session.

At the end of the course, you will be able to -
● Investigate and demonstrate knowledge of the colour wheel and colour harmonies (Unit 201: Introduction to art and design for florists).
* Investigate and demonstrate knowledge of the Elements and Principles of design (Unit 201: Introduction to art and design for florists).
● Plan, prepare and construct floral arrangements in foam (Unit 206)
● Plan, prepare and construct wedding designs with floral materials (Unit 207)
● Complete online multiple choice (GOLA) exam

Progress of your learning will be assessed through -
• Practical observation.
* Portfolio of work

You will record your progress through your Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and your tutor will provide you with ongoing feedback to support you.

Assessment for applicants is based on interest and ambition. Literacy and numeracy is considered through the completion of a skills assessment. Please allow up to 2 hours for this to take place.

• You will be expected to be punctual and attend 100% of this course. Please do not book holidays in term time and let us know of any planned absences before you start the course. If you do not attend for 2 consecutive sessions, without prior notice you may be withdrawn, and this will reduce your chances of joining another course in the future.

• Learners may complete an Emotional Health and Wellbeing survey to help us identify and support these needs appropriately.

• We use a mixture of classroom based and online learning for classwork and homework.

On the first session, please bring a strong pair of scissors or secateurs if you have them, note pad/pen and £15 to cover the cost of the flowers.

There are several routes with which you can take, including progressing onto the Intermediate floristry (plus) (Level 2 Dip in Floristry) flower arranging or workshops. We also offer Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications in Horticulture.
