Throughout this course, we will support and guide you with techniques that you can use to ensure that your child is fully prepared for the next steps in their life, which will make the transition easier for them and you. Acquire the ability to implement strategies aimed at enhancing children's social skills
Develop the capacity to assist your child in managing emotional challenges arising when being separated from parents
Assist your child in achieving a level of relative independence in their personal care and encourage a sense of curiosity about the world and cultivate a keen desire for learning
Foster the ability to help establish and maintain a beneficial routine for your child"

"Your tutor will support and assess you on your learning journey through regular reflection and feedback and through your individual learning plan (ILP). "

You don’t need any experience to attend this short course. This course is suitable for parents who have children who are about to transition from nursery to primary school.

You will be expected to be punctual and attend 100% of this course. Please do not book holidays in term time and let us know of any planned absences before you start the course. If you do not attend for 2 consecutive sessions, without prior notice you may be withdrawn, and this will reduce your chances of joining another course in the future. • Learners may complete an Emotional Health and Wellbeing survey to help us identify and support these needs appropriately. •We use a mixture of classroom based and online learning for classwork and homework.

"You will need a notepad and pen for your first session and your tutor will advise you on further materials if needed (Please do not purchase any materials before the first session).
"Yes. There are various ways to support your learning, subject to your individual circumstance and type of programme, please ask your tutor or the centre staff for more information on the following:
• Additional funding to pay for resources.
• Laptop, Loan and Learn scheme
• Homework Club
• Additional support within the classroom"

Every learner's journey is different and your tutor will guide you on the next course that is right for you and support your learning journey. You may wish to consider another short course or you may wish to look at the different curriculum areas and embark on a longer or qualification course.

There are no specific job opportunities after this course, but you may feel more confident to consider a longer or qualification course that starts your next learning journey. Or you may wish to consider volunteering. Your tutor will support you and discuss your next steps

"You can give your views through your ILP, course evaluation forms, surveys and our Compliments, Comments and Complaints forms which can be found in Centre offices.
You may also choose to become a course representative for your class. Course Representatives can then stand for election onto our Learner Council"

To ensure that our learners can communicate with each other safely we offer a variety of functions in Moodle. We strongly discourage the use of other social media groups such as Whatsapp, which rely on personal data being shared."
