Drawing and Painting
The intent of this course is to build on your existing skills and knowledge of drawing and painting, a creative skill that can be beneficial for your wellbeing.
You will explore drawing and painting a range of subjects, from still life, landscapes, from plants to figures. Initially you will be working tonally exploring how to draw proportions accurately and experimenting with composition. Later you will be introduced to watercolour.

At the end of the course you should be able to:
- Develop objective drawing skills
- Create several line and tonal drawings
- Produce at least one completed watercolour/acrylic painting

Your tutor will assess your learning and progress throughout the course through ongoing observation, question and answer, tasks and exercises. Your progress will be recorded on your Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and your tutor will provide you with ongoing feedback to support you.

This course is designed for people who want to further their knowledge and skills in drawing and painting. Some painting experience is essential.
If you are a complete beginner, please try one of our 'Getting Started' classes in drawing or painting.

The course teaches a creative craft skill and does not lead directly to employment. If you would like to turn your creative skills into a business you may be interested in our 'Start your own business' courses.

You may also choose to become a course representative for your class, which your tutor will discuss with the class at the start of your course.
