Stress Awareness Level 1 Award
This qualification aims to focus on the study of mental health and offer breadth and depth of study, incorporating a key core of knowledge on mental health and stress awareness. From studying this course, the learner will understand what is meant by the term 'mental health' and consider the definition and causes of mental health difficulties. Learners will also explore common perceptions of mental health difficulties and how stereotyping can affect people's perceptions. They will develop their knowledge of the rights of those who experience mental health difficulties and learn where appropriate support can be sought. Learners will also develop their awareness of cultural diversity within mental health issues.
All classes are asked to complete the Emotional Health and Wellbeing survey at the beginning of their course. This enables us to identify and help people who need support.
Please note: All learners are expected to attend 100% of their course and to arrive 15 minutes before the start of their class. If you do not attend for 3 consecutive weeks, you may be withdrawn. This will also reduce your chances of joining another course in the future.
