Calligraphy Beginners
The intent of this course is to introduce you to the art of Calligraphy, a creative outlet which can enhance your wellbeing.
Throughout this practical course you will be introduced to the basics of calligraphy tools, materials and working methods followed by writing in a specified script.

At the end of the course you should be able to:
- Select and use appropriate tools and materials
- Outline the importance of accurately ruling up
- Plan, draft and produce a page of text in a given script

Your tutor will monitor your progress through observation, tasks and activities.
You will record your progress through your Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and your tutor will provide ongoing feedback to support you.

Beginners welcome, no experience required. If you are completely new to calligraphy, you may like to try our 'Get Started with Calligraphy' workshops before enrolling for this course.

You will need: Plain cartridge paper, preferably A3 size, a pencil, a ruler. Additional costs should not exceed £30, depending on materials chosen. Please do not purchase any additional items before the course starts, your tutor will advise during the first session.

You may also choose to become a course representative for your class, which your tutor will discuss with the class at the start of your course.
