Digital Photography Advanced
The intent of this course is to explore techniques for creating better photographs and approach a range of different subject more creatively and to an advanced level.
This course is for learners who want a hands-on opportunity to improve their picture taking skills using a Digital SLR camera. This is a follow up from the intermediate Digital Photo course, so learners must have a good knowledge of Photography and of their camera.
Topics covered will include creative use of composition, fully exploring manual controls, an introduction to RAW file processing, using HDR, and learning to use the video function, archiving images, print presentation and digital editing techniques to a more advanced level. You will be encouraged to critically analyse your photographs and practice outside classroom time.

Your tutor will assess your learning and progress throughout the course through ongoing observation, question and answer, tasks and exercises. Your progress will be recorded on your Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and your tutor will provide you with ongoing feedback to support you.

This course is not suitable for complete beginners; you will have ideally completed both Beginners and Intermediate Digital Photography courses and/or have a good knowledge of Aperture and Shutter Speed controls.
Good knowledge of opening and saving files on the computer and familiarity with the mouse and keyboard is essential. This course is suitable for DSLR users only.

Your camera and user manual, fresh batteries, storage card for your camera, USB drive (optional), notepad and a pen. You will have the opportunity to borrow tripods and/or mono-pods on a weekly basis.
