Get Started with Gardening: Summer
The intent of this course is designed specifically for learners who have little or no experience with gardening to develop knowledge, investigate creativity and enhance social and employability skills. Join us for a fun and instructive 4 week course, using gardening and plant based activities that will improve health and wellbeing. This introductory course will help you investigate what you need to do to take care of plants, take cuttings and watch them grow. This gentle course includes a beginner’s guide to Plant Latin and soil improvement.
You are expected to be punctual and attend 100% of this course, if you do not attend for 3 consecutive weeks, you may be withdrawn. This will also reduce your chances of joining another course in the future.
English, Maths and Digital Skills will be embedded in the course.
All classes are asked to complete the Emotional Health and Wellbeing survey at the beginning and end of their course. This enables us to see whether learning has a positive impact on wellbeing and it also enables us to identify and help people who need support.

Due to the recent COVID-19 outbreak, we are working under new social distancing guidance and we will be introducing blended learning. This is a way of learning remotely without being in regular face-to-face contact with your tutor in a classroom setting. You will be using online and video platforms to help you achieve this. Your tutor will work closely with you to complete your course.
We want you to enjoy your learning experience and feel safe, equal and respected while you are learning with us. If you have any concerns about any of these things please report it to a member of staff as soon as possible.
