Spanish Breakthrough - Stage 2
The intent of this course is to build on the what you have learned in Breakthrough - Stage 1. This course will help you take more control of your language skills and equip youwith additional vocabulary and grammar knowledge for day to day conversation; shopping for food, travelling by train/bus/plane, the time, ordering a meal at the restaurant, describing the weather. You will also recognise and be able to make an attempt at producing grammar and linguistic structures using the present tenses, prepositions and additional verbs.

By the end of the course you should be able to:
- Understand the main points from a short spoken passage made up of familiar language
- Ask and answer simple questions and talk about my interests
- Understand the main points of a short written text in clear printed script
- Write a few short sentences with support, using expressions you have already learnt.

Your tutor will assess your learning and progress throughout the course through ongoing observation, question and answer, tasks and exercises. Your progress will be recorded on your Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and your tutor will provide you with ongoing feedback to support you.

This course is for beginners and builds on the Breakthrough - Stage 1 course.

This course may include some elements of blended learning, you will be given further details during your first session. You will receive an induction to online learning at the beginning of your course and your tutor will work with you to develop the skills you need to successfully learn online. Additional support will also be available to you, if required. In order to take part you will need to have access to the internet and a laptop or personal computer. You will be able to book computer access in centres if you don’t have a computer and/or internet access at home or may be able to borrow a device through our Loan and Learn Scheme (subject to availability).

Pen, paper and an A4 ring binder. Cost Involved: £20-£30 for a course book/CD which you will be advised of at the first session. Please do not purchase any items before the first session.

You will develop some employability skills such as communication, team work and meeting deadlines.

Languages are a fantastic employability skill, developing your skills further may enhance your CV and improve your employment prospects.
