Spanish Intermediate - Stage 2
The intent of this course is to further build on the knowledge learners acquired on the Intermediate - Stage 1 course. You should have completed at least 160 hours of learning in the language. This course will help you take much better control of your language skills and knowledge. You will work towards deeper learning of the Spanish language and culture, becoming much more comfortable with a wider range of tenses, read, write and give oral presentation from authentic passages on familiar matters. The course covers the four language skills; reading, writing, speaking and listening. You will be able to adapt what you know and what you learn and become confident in a variety of situations.

By the end of the course you should be able to:
- Understand the gist of a range of authentic passages in familiar contexts
- Take part in a discussion, giving and justifying my opions and ideas
- Understand a wide range of authentic texts in familiar contexts
- Communicate ideas accurately and in an appropriate style over a range of familiar topics

Your tutor will assess your learning and progress throughout the course through ongoing observation, question and answer, tasks and exercises. Your progress will be recorded on your Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and your tutor will provide you with ongoing feedback to support you.

Previous knowledge of the language is necessary. Ideally you should have completed at least 160 hours of learning in the language or have completed the Intermediate - Stage 1 course. If you are unsure about your level, please refer to the route map in our brochure (available on our website).

This course may include some elements of blended learning, you will be given further details during your first session. You will receive an induction to online learning at the beginning of your course and your tutor will work with you to develop the skills you need to successfully learn online. Additional support will also be available to you, if required. In order to take part you will need to have access to the internet and a laptop or personal computer. You will be able to book computer access in centres if you don’t have a computer and/or internet access at home or may be able to borrow a device through our Loan and Learn Scheme (subject to availability).

Pen, paper and an A4 ring binder. Cost Involved: £20-£30 for a course book/CD which you will be advised of at the first session. Please do not purchase any items before the first session.

Languages are a fantastic employability skill, developing your skills further may enhance your CV and improve your employment prospects.
