Spanish Preliminary - Stage 2
The intent of this course is to further build on the knowledge learners acquired on the previous Preliminary - Stage 1 course. You should have completed at least 100 hours of learning in the language. This course will help you gain additional language vocabulary and grammar skills that can be used in day to day conversation and situation; daily routine, my house, description of town, invitations, talking about future plans/holidays/trips, directions and public transport. By the end of the course you should be able to:
- Understand the difference between present, past and future events in a range of spoken material
- Give a short, prepared talk, expressing opinions and answering simple questions about it, using a variety of structures
- Understand the difference between present, past and future events in a range of texts
- Write a text, giving and seeking information and opinions, using a variety of structures.

Your tutor will assess your learning and progress throughout the course through ongoing observation, question and answer, tasks and exercises. Your progress will be recorded on your Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and your tutor will provide you with ongoing feedback to support you.

Previous knowledge of the language is necessary. Ideally you should have completed at least 100 hours of learning in the language and/or completed the Preliminary - Stage 1 course. If you are unsure about your level, please refer to the route map in our brochure (available on our website).

This course may include some elements of blended learning, you will be given further details during your first session. You will receive an induction to online learning at the beginning of your course and your tutor will work with you to develop the skills you need to successfully learn online. Additional support will also be available to you, if required. In order to take part you will need to have access to the internet and a laptop or personal computer. You will be able to book computer access in centres if you don’t have a computer and/or internet access at home or may be able to borrow a device through our Loan and Learn Scheme (subject to availability).

Pen, paper and an A4 ring binder. Cost Involved: £20-£30 for a course book/CD which you will be advised of at the first session. Please do not purchase any items before the first session.
