Calligraphy
The intent of this course is for learners with Calligraphy experience to build on their skills and knowledge and to improve on their practice, working in a hand of their choice. Beginners are welcomed and will be introduced to the basics of calligraphy: tools, materials and working methods followed by writing in a specified script. Guidance will be given at all times. The main theme this term will be based around a seasonal topic. We will be looking at historical decorated letters with a view to adapting them for contemporary use.
You are expected to be punctual and attend 100% of this course.
All classes are asked to complete the Emotional Health and Wellbeing survey at the beginning and end of their course. This enables us to see whether learning has a positive impact on wellbeing and it also enables us to identify and help people who need support.

The course will only go ahead subject to sufficient enrolments. Due to the recent COVID-19 outbreak we are working under new social distancing guidance. To keep learners and staff safe we are taking safety precautions within centres and moving some learning online. The amount of online learning will vary by course but it is important that all learners are ready to learn online, should it become necessary, either for them individually or for the whole group. You will receive an induction to online learning at the beginning of your course and your tutor will work with you to develop the skills you need to successfully learn online.
