Masterclass: Function Designs
The intent of this course is to increase your knowledge, build on your creative and employability skills and enhance your professional portfolio. A fun and instructive one-day course for those wishing to extend on their knowledge of Oriental Inspired designs. All materials and fresh flowers are supplied – just come with your workbox and a bite to eat.
Please note: All learners are expected to attend 100% of their course and arrive 15 minutes before their class starts.

Open What will I learn?

The intention of this course is that you will have learnt to -
• Adhere to health and safety requirements in the workshop.
● Identify a variety of flowers and foliage.
● Demonstrate correct conditioning techniques of plant materials.
● Plan, prepare and practice creating beautiful Oriental Inspired designs.
● Apply best practices on how to care for your design at home.

Progress of your learning will be assessed through -
• Practical observation.
• Completion of Individual Learning Plans

Open What experience or qualifications do I need to start this course?

No formal qualifications are necessary, just a keen interest in floristry and flowers.

Open Important Information

Due to the recent COVID-19 outbreak, we are working under new social distancing guidance and we will be introducing blended learning. This is a way of learning remotely without being in regular face-to-face contact with your tutor in a classroom setting. You will be using online and video platforms to help you achieve this. Your tutor will work closely with you to complete your course.

Open After the course….

There are several routes with which you can take. The horizontal path onto any Contemporary Designs course. We also offer several Level 1, 2 and Level 3 qualification Floristry classes. Please ensure you are on our mailing list to receive the most up to date information on courses. There are no specific job opportunities, however this will enhance your creative skills and could improve your employability skills such as working as part of a team and communication skills.

Open How will I be able to give my views on the course?

We welcome views from our learners in a number of ways. You can give your views through your ILP, course evaluation forms, on-line questionnaires and our Compliments, Comments and Complaints forms which can be found in Centre offices. You may also choose to become a course representative for your class, which your tutor will discuss with the class at the start of your course.
