Understanding Safeguarding and Prevent Level 2 Certificate
This level 4 qualification course aims to provide professional development opportunities for practitioners working in the school and college workforce. This qualification will embrace the wealth of experience, proven knowledge and skill sof the learner in a teaching and learning environment. It will challenge the learners in both diarly practice and theoretical understanding. Learners will be aquired and use skills of leadership, mentoring, coaching and reflection as they complete the qualification through work-based learning opportunties. You need to be working in a school or college and hold a recognised Level 3 Vocational qualification.

The intention of this course is that you will learner - Enabling individuals to learn. Understand how to support children and young people to improve mental health and well-being. Working with others to support individuals with additional needs/disability in a school or college. Working with families and other professionals in a school or college setting. Implementing change in a school or college setting.

Progress of your work will be assessed throughout the course by your tutor (assessor). You will be required to complete a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate yoru knowledge and understanding of the duties, role and responsibilities associated with childcare. You will be supported through this course to enable you to produce a proftolio of work which will include a ragne of evidenc emethods such as written tasks, case studies and work products to meet assessment criteria.

You will need to attend an initial assessment before you will be able to enrol on this qualification course, you need to hold a recognised Level 3 qualification to apply for this course and be working in a school or college. YOu will need to be able to sue both writtenand spokne Englihs to at least a Level 2 standard, to complete the reading and writing elements for successful completion of the course. You will also need good Digital Skills, this is essential to be able to successfully particpate in online sessions as you will be required to work on online platforms sucs as Google Classroom and Moodle. Full attendance, good puctuality and timely assignment completion are requirements of this course.

Due to the recent COVID-19 outbreak, we are working under new social distancing guidance and we will be introducing blended learning. This is a way of learning remotely without being in regular face-to-face contact with your tutor in a classroom setting. You will be learning using online platforms to help you to achieve this, your tutor will work closely with you to complete your qualification

This course could lead you into employment in a range of school-based settings as a learning support assistant, dependent on Employer requirements and experience.

You can give your views through your ILP, course evaluation forms, on-line questionnaires and our Compliments, Comments and Complaints forms which can be found in Centre offices. You may also choose to become a course representative for your class, which your tutor will discuss with the class at the start of your course.
