The intent of this course is to increase your knowledge, practical and employability skills. This is an accredited course which covers a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas working in early years, children and young people’s settings: pre-schools, playgroups, crèches, day nurseries, children’s centres, play schemes, after school clubs or within social care support services.
You will learn about various aspects of working with children and young people, including early years and social care, which will cover the age range 0 - 19 years. You will be able to develop your knowledge, understanding and skills and the requirements for high quality childcare while working in a supervised role.
All classes are asked to complete the Emotional Health and Wellbeing survey at the beginning and end of their course. This enables us to see whether learning has a positive impact on wellbeing and it also enables us to identify and help people who need support.
Please note: All learners are expected to attend 100% of their course and to arrive 15 minutes before the start of their class. If you do not attend for 3 consecutive weeks, you may be withdrawn. This will also reduce your chances of joining another course in the future.
You will also need to ensure that you allow sufficient time for self-study and complete any homework set, we would recommend 3 – 4 hours per week.
